Barbecues
Despite the traditionally wet English weather we all love a barbecue. It’s common to see barbecues of all shapes and sizes in our gardens nowadays. Some of us like to use them just a couple of times over the summer months whilst others will use them at every opportunity, rain or shine!
The simplest barbecues -- and some of the most popular nowadays -- are the disposable barbecues. You can buy these in all kinds of shops and they offer a quick and easy way to access a barbecue when you want one. These sets are usually made up from a disposable tinfoil type of tray that comes with its own coals and grills. You simply light it, cook on it and then dispose of it when you are done.
If you want to have a barbecue more often then you may want to think about buying a standard barbecue. You have plenty of choice when it comes to models to choose from here. Some families, for example, like to buy small portable barbecues that they can use at home and also when they go on holiday. There are some funky options here at the moment including bucket shaped models.
Barbecues that you keep at home may be larger than this although the sizes of models on offer here vary widely. You can, for example, buy a small barbecue that would cook enough for a couple of people, through to a large almost industrial sized model that would feed a large family or group of people.
Some barbeques work in the standard way in that you use barbecue coals and light and control them yourself. More advanced models such as gas fired designs may take some of the work out of that for you. Larger models may also come with some features and accessories that smaller barbecues don’t have.
So, for example, you can buy barbecues with:
- Multiple burners
- Warming grills and plates
- Rotisserie grills
- Flavourising bars
- Cooking shelves
- Work surfaces
The type of barbecue that you buy may well depend on how often you will use it in the first place and how many people you will be cooking for. The more ‘bangs and whistle’ a barbecue has, the more it is likely to cost you and the bigger it is likely to be. But, given that barbecues can be so much fun this is considered to be a sound investment by many people.
